Our Founding Story
Uptown Chevrolet was founded in 1946. After their return from World War II, our brave founders, Irv and Ray Prentler and William Lutter, lived out their dream of creating something that would be meaningful for their community. The first Uptown used car dealership was created as a result of their efforts.
After only nine years of delivering results that their customers loved, they expanded into a Lincoln Mercury dealership in 1955. The success of their business propelled them to move to a larger location in 1966, moving to its iconic location on North Mayfair Rd. In 1991, we brought our signature service, incredible processes, and desire to serve to Washington County, creating Uptown Chevrolet in Slinger. Since then, we've added Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM to round off our Uptown family, keeping our Chevrolet brand close to our hearts.
